I have been missing some restaurants food in this COVID 19 lockdown. In those, Idlies in Jayanagar Bangalore is one of them. So I tried some of their Idli recipes at home. In today's multi-post, I will be sharing Banana Stuffed Idli, Potato/Aloo stuffed Idli and Chocolate Idli . Ingredients Idli batter Banana 1-2 for 8-10 Idlis (chopped) Fresh grated coconut 5 tbsp (2 tbsp for idli & 3 tbsp for coconut milk) Milk 100ml or half glass Sugar 2-3 tbsp Elaichi powder ½ tbsp or elaichi 2 Salt to taste Procedure Banana Paste Add chopped banana to the mixer jar and blend smooth paste or you can mash with the help of hand. Chana Daal Halwa (ಕಡಲೆ ಬೇಳೆ ಹಯಗ್ರೀವ)

Ingredients Chana daal 1 cup Sugar 1 cup Elaichi/ cardamom 2-3 ( elaichi powder ½ tbs) Fresh grated coconut 3tbs Pinch of salt Dry fruits (kaju, kishmish) Procedure Soak chana daal for two hours Cook chana daal and drain off the extra water. (You can cook in pressure cooker or the vessel) Now add sugar, elaichi powder, grated coconut, salt and saute well In low flame, cook till the sugar melts and stir constantly until thickened Finally add the dry fruits and serve with Ghee. Potato/Aloo stuffed Idli

In today's multi-post, I will be sharing Potato/Aloo stuffed Idli, Banana Stuffed Idli and Chocolate Idli . Ingredients Idli batter Potato/Aloo (boiled and roughly mashed) 2 potatoes for 6-8 Idli Oil 1 tbsp Chana dal ½ tbsp Urad dal, cumin & Mustard seeds ½ tbsp each Pinch of turmeric powder Pinch of Hing Green chilli 1(finely chopped) Onion 1 small size (long cut) Ginger ¼ inch (finely chopped) Curry leaves 2-3 Coriander leaves 1 tbsp Lemon juice ¼ tbsp Salt to taste Procedure Potato/Aloo Masala Heat up the oil in a pan and add urad dal, mustard seeds, chana dal and hing. Once the above ingredients start to splutter, add ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, turmeric powder and onion. Jackfruit Idli

Jackfruit Idli/ कटहल/ फणस Idli/ ಹಲಸಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಕಡುಬು/ಇಡ್ಲಿ Most of you know this jackfruit idli, but here I am sharing little bit different idli recipe taught by my grandmother. Ingredients Idli Rava ¾ cup or Rice Rava Jackfruit 14-15 pieces Jaggery 5-7 tbsp (as per your taste) Sugar 1 tbsp (optional) (for extra taste) Coconut oil ½ tbsp for idli and ½ tbsp for greasing idli plate Salt ½ tbsp (as per your taste) Water 1 cup or 75ml (approximately) Procedure Take 2-3 jackfruit pieces and cut into small pieces as shown in the below picture. Keep it aside Blend leftover jackfruit pieces along with water. Blend till it becomes a smooth paste, as shown in below picture. Brinjal Curry / Badanekayi enne palya /ಬದನೆಕಾಯಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಪಲ್ಯ

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers and soon to be Mothers :) This is one of my favourite recipe taught by my mother. This curry can serve with roti, chapati & rice. Ingredients 4 Small brinjals 1 Tomato ( finely chopped) 1 medium-size onion ( finely chopped) Fresh grated coconut 4 tbsp Chili powder 1 tbsp Turmeric powder ¼ tbsp Cumin powder 1 tbsp Coriander powder 1 tbsp Sugar 1 tbsp Salt to taste Oil 6-8 tbsp Procedures For making masala, take a plate or bowl, add chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, grated coconut, chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin & coriander powder, sugar, salt, and mix well.
