Tomato & Peanut Curry

The combination of peanut and tomato is very tasty and this c urry is specially served with chapati. Ingredients One Tomato (finely chopped) One Onion (finely chopped) Peanut (semi powdered) Curry leaves Ginger garlic paste ½ tbs (for extra taste) Chili powder 1 tbs Turmeric powder ¼ tbs Cumin and coriander powder 1 tbs Oil 1 tbs Urad dal & mustard 1 tbs Salt ¾ tbs Water 4 tbs Procedure Heat the oil in a pan and add urad dal, mustard. When it starts to spluttering then add ginger garlic paste and saute well Now add curry leaves, turmeric powder, onion and fry for 2 minutes. Add chopped tomatoes and fry it for another 2 minutes Add Blended peanut or powdered peanut, add chili powder, cumin & coriander powder, salt. Saute well and sprinkle some water. Now Cook for 5-7 minutes and stir it occasionally. Your tomato peanut curry is ready to serve.

Cut Mirchi

Cut Mirchi Ingredients Chilli (Mirchi) 5-6 Besan 1cup Rice flour ½ cup Chilli powder ¾ tbsp Baking soda ¼ tbsp Water 1+¼ cup Grated carrot ½ cup Finely chopped onion 1 Coriander leaves ½ cup Lemon juice 2-3 tbsp Salt to taste Oil for frying Procedure Slit Mirchi in the centre and remove seeds. Keep it aside Take a plate, add grated carrot, chopped onion and coriander leaves. Mix gently and keep it aside. Take a bowl and add besan, rice flour, chilli powder, baking soda, salt and mix well. Now add water to this mixture and mix well without any lumps. The batter consistency should be thicker than Idli batter Now heat up 3 tbsp of oil and add this to the batter and mix well. Now your Mirchi batter is ready Take a frying pan and heat up the oil Now, take a slit Mirchi and dip in the Mirchi batter neatly Fry it in the hot oil on medium flame. Jackfruit Idli

Jackfruit Idli/ कटहल/ फणस Idli/ ಹಲಸಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಕಡುಬು/ಇಡ್ಲಿ Most of you know this jackfruit idli, but here I am sharing little bit different idli recipe taught by my grandmother. Ingredients Idli Rava ¾ cup or Rice Rava Jackfruit 14-15 pieces Jaggery 5-7 tbsp (as per your taste) Sugar 1 tbsp (optional) (for extra taste) Coconut oil ½ tbsp for idli and ½ tbsp for greasing idli plate Salt ½ tbsp (as per your taste) Water 1 cup or 75ml (approximately) Procedure Take 2-3 jackfruit pieces and cut into small pieces as shown in the below picture. Keep it aside Blend leftover jackfruit pieces along with water. Blend till it becomes a smooth paste, as shown in below picture. Banana Stuffed Idli

I have been missing some restaurants food in this COVID 19 lockdown. In those, Idlies in Jayanagar Bangalore is one of them. So I tried some of their Idli recipes at home. In today's multi-post, I will be sharing Banana Stuffed Idli, Potato/Aloo stuffed Idli and Chocolate Idli . Ingredients Idli batter Banana 1-2 for 8-10 Idlis (chopped) Fresh grated coconut 5 tbsp (2 tbsp for idli & 3 tbsp for coconut milk) Milk 100ml or half glass Sugar 2-3 tbsp Elaichi powder ½ tbsp or elaichi 2 Salt to taste Procedure Banana Paste Add chopped banana to the mixer jar and blend smooth paste or you can mash with the help of hand. Jackfruit Seeds Bonda Ingredients Jackfruit seeds 10-11 Rice flour 2-3 tbsp Rava 1 tbsp 1 small sized onion finely chopped Grated coconut 1 tbsp 1 Green chilli finely chopped Coriander leaves 1 tbsp finely chopped Curry leaves 1 tbsp finely chopped Ginger ¼ tbsp finely chopped Oil for frying Salt to taste Pinch of soda (optional) Procedure Remove the white skin of seeds Blend the jackfruit seeds without using water Now add some water and blend it to smooth & thick paste Now transfer the blended paste into a bowl and add onion, grated coconut, coriander leaves, curry leaves, ginger, green chilli, salt and mix well Now add rice flour, rava & soda to the above ingredients and mix well.
